Mobileye Global (MBLY) plans full ownership of an autonomous ride-hailing business, expanding its robotaxi activities beyond supplying self-driving technology, the company said Tuesday.

Mobileye plans to prepare an initial fleet of roughly 100 vehicles for deployment in a major metropolitan US market starting next year.

Following successful operation, the company intends to scale the business, eyeing about 17,000 vehicles over the following five years, it said.

Mobileye shares were up 5% in premarket activity.
