Amplitude Energy Bull Cuts Expectations on Weak Gas Market -- Market Talk

2327 GMT - With gas market conditions weakening in Australia's eastern states, Macquarie lowers its winter revenue expectations for Amplitude Energy's spot gas sales. That helps to drive a 15% reduction in its price target, to A$2.55/share. Macquarie now expects Amplitude to realize a natural-gas price of A$10.74 per gigajoule in 4Q. It highlights a mild start to winter, which has softened demand, and strong availability of thermal coal for power. Macquarie also notes that Santos's GLNG export facility hasn't been purchasing discounted domestic volumes while Iona storage is near capacity. Macquarie's FY26 and FY27 EPS forecasts fall 7.4% and 13%, respectively, on lower spot gas pricing assumptions. It retains an "outperform" call on Amplitude, which ended Wednesday at A$1.455.
