1036 ET - The sudden departure of Dye & Durham CEO George Tsivin adds to a prolonged period of turnover as the embattled cloud-based legal practice management software company continues its strategic review and search for a buyer. The board has handed executive duties to a three-member committee that includes Tyler Proud, the company's activist cofounder who recently rejoined the board through OneMove Capital's settlement with the company. The shift further concentrates operational oversight among directors aligned with recent governance changes, including Chair Mary Filippelli. The board's new leadership says the company must tighten discipline and execution as it weighs steps to simplify the business and shore up its balance sheet. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)

0927 ET - London mining shares tumble as gold prices fall below $4,000 a troy ounce for the first time since November 2025. Market expectations for Federal Reserve rate hikes drag on the non-yielding yellow metal, while a stronger dollar is weighing on gold prices as it raises the cost of buying for foreign buyers. A sharp fall in silver prices is also dragging miners. New York gold futures drop 4% to $3,984.40 a troy ounce, while silver futures drop 5.9% to $58.38 an ounce. Losses for London-listed Hochschild deepened throughout the trading day, with shares down over 9% in afternoon trade to a six-month low. Silver miner Fresnillo drops 5.1%, while Endeavour Mining--which specializes in West African gold--tumbles 5.25%. (josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)

0858 ET - Rheinmetall shares are on pace for their worst day since October 1989, as investors react sharply to media reports that Germany is ditching plans to build a new warship model. Shares in the defense giant tumble 17.5% in afternoon European trade after Der Spiegel magazine and the Financial Times reported the German government is dropping a plan to build six F126 frigates. The project is one of the biggest in Rheinmetall's pipeline. Barring a recovery before the close, the market rout will wipe 9.36 billion euros off Rheinmetall's market value--its largest one-day market cap loss on record. Shares haven't dropped so steeply in percentage terms since Oct. 16, 1989, shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall.(josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)

0833 ET - Bitcoin trades steady as U.S. stock futures stabilize following a two-day selloff in tech stocks driven by AI-bubble fears. Micron Technology's quarterly earnings after the U.S. close are in focus, Trade Nation's David Morrison says in a note. "There's a lot of good stuff already priced into the stock, so there's scope for disappointment." However, some positive forward guidance could be enough to boost Micro and the chip sector, he says. Meanwhile, the prospect of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates creates a headwind for tech stocks as it would make it more expensive to fund AI infrastructure spending via bond issues, he says. Bitcoin trades flat at $62,380, having reached a 12-day low of $61,921 Tuesday, LSEG data show. (renae.dyer@wsj.com)Trainline's new CEO will need more than digital platform experience, according to AJ Bell's Dan Coatsworth. "Trainline's New Will Need More Than Digital Platform Experience -- Market Talk," at 1137 GMT, omitted CEO in the headline."The Meta Glasses launch will reassure investors who were concerned about the lack of cheaper smart glasses to compete with competition," Rossi says. "EssilorLuxottica, Meta's More Affordable AI Glasses Support Upselling Opportunities -- Market Talk," at 1145 GMT, misspelled Cedric Rossi's name.

0800 ET - FedEx's guidance is difficult to measure due to several structural changes to how the company reports its finances, Morgan Stanley analysts say. FedEx switched to a calendar-year reporting schedule, making it difficult to compare its forward outlook with previous guidance, the analysts say. The company's spinoff of FedEx Freight also complicates comparability, and investors are waiting until the newly independent company reports financials on Thursday to see how the freight industry performed. The analysts estimate FedEx's guidance for the second half of this calendar year is modestly below sell-side consensus estimates, which they say is contributing the stock's 6% decline premarket. They add that it will be difficult to pin down the normalized EPS level until the company issues 2027 guidance in January. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)

0745 ET - EssilorLuxottica and Meta's new range of cheaper AI glasses should broaden the addressable market and support upselling opportunities toward higher-end Ray-Ban and Oakley collections, Stifel's Cedric Rossi writes. The companies announced the new collection on Tuesday with a starting price of $299. "The Meta Glasses launch will reassure investors who were concerned about the lack of cheaper smart glasses to compete with competition," Rossi says. EssilorLuxottica shares are down 3.7% at 161.95 euros and are 40% lower over the year to date.(ian.walker@wsj.com) Corrections & Amplifications

This article was corrected at 08:08 a.m. ET to fix a misspelled name. It is misspelled Cedric Rossi, not Ross.

0743 ET - Beiersdorf's Nivea brand remains under pressure, with the Middle East conflict still a drag, analysts at Bernstein write in a note. The second quarter will likely have an incremental hit from the war considering there was only one month of impact in the first quarter, the analysts write. The innovation phasing, which pulled down first quarter results, should drop away in the second quarter, they add. The analysts expect Nivea to post negative second-quarter growth. Shares are up 2.05% at 72.68 euros. (aimee.look@wsj.com)

0737 ET - Trainline's new CEO Ian Brown joins from betting and iGaming operator Flutter and has digital platform experience that could be helpful in the company's fight against growing competition, AJ Bell Dan Coatsworth writes. However, Brown will need more than just digital experience to succeed, Coatsworth warns. A structural headwind in the form of potential single state-backed rail ticketing platform in the U.K. is causing share-price weakness, he add. Shares fall 1.2% to 210.40 pence and are down nearly 25% over the past year. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com) Corrections & Amplifications

This article was corrected at 08:30 a.m. ET because CEO was omitted from the earlier headline.

0733 ET - Berkeley is as well placed as any of its peers to navigate a bleak operating environment, AJ Bell's Dan Coatsworth writes in a note. It's no surprise the market reacts positively to its full-year results, especially since the U.K. house builder got the bad news out of the way ahead of time, he adds. Cash comes in higher than expected and gives a buffer to ride out any turbulence, Coatsworth adds. Shares rise 4.6% to 3,606 pence.(adam.whittaker@wsj.com)

0731 ET - The Sage Group is unlikely to change its organic growth guidance for fiscal 2026, partly due to slightly tougher comparatives in the fourth quarter, UBS analysts write in a note. The accounting software company is set to report double-digit growth in its third-quarter results, in line with its first-half performance, they say. "However, we do not expect any update to guidance for 'above 9%' organic growth in the year, notwithstanding the strong first 9 months," the analysts say. Sage is due to post its third-quarter results on July 29. Shares are down 0.6% at 8.02 pounds.(najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
