Sanofi's (SNY) treatment for multiple sclerosis has been approved in Europe, while a therapy for immune thrombocytopenia has been cleared in Japan, the company said Tuesday.

Cenrifki has been approved in the European Union as a treatment for secondary progressive multiple sclerosis without relapses, the company said.

The approval was based on phase 3 studies showing the drug "significantly delayed" disability progression with a consistent safety profile, the company said.

Sanofi plans to make Cenrifki available in Germany in 2026.

In a separate statement, Sanofi said Japan approved Wayrilz to treat immune thrombocytopenia in patients who do not respond sufficiently to or cannot tolerate other treatments.

The approval was supported by a phase 3 study showing rapid and durable platelet responses and improvements in other symptoms, Sanofi said.
