People Inc. (PPLI) chief executive officer Neil Vogel accused Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google unit of market power abuse for utilizing a single web crawler for both search and artificial intelligence, Axios reported Tuesday.

Blocking the shared crawler to protect data from artificial intelligence training models would also eliminate search traffic crucial for advertising and affiliate revenue, according to the news outlet.

The publisher is likely moving toward further confrontation with Google rather than productivity, Vogel said, according to Axios.
