Darden Restaurants reported higher profit and sales in its fiscal fourth quarter, once again led by its LongHorn Steakhouse brand.

The company on Thursday posted net earnings of $404.9 million, or $3.51 a share, for its three months ended May 31, compared with $303.8 million, or $2.58 a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out one-time items, earnings came in at $3.66 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected adjusted earnings of $3.63 a share.

Quarterly sales climbed 14% to $3.72 billion, just below Wall Street models for $3.73 billion. The company attributed the increase in part to additional sales from an extra week of operations, as well as the benefit of new restaurant openings.

Same-restaurant sales rose 4.6%, ahead of analyst views for a 4.2% increase. Growth was led by a 9.5% jump in comparable sales across its LongHorn Steakhouse brand, while same-restaurant sales across its Oliver Garden banner ticked up 2.4%.

Looking ahead, Darden guided for earnings from continuing operations of $11.10 to $11.35 a share on sales of $13.6 billion to $13.75 billion in its fiscal 2027. Analysts were looking for earnings of $11.39 a share on sales of $13.71 billion.

Same-restaurant sales are projected to climb 2.5% to 3.5% over the coming year, compared with analyst views for a 2.9% increase.
