Weyerhaeuser Cuts 2Q Wood Production Guidance by $20M

Weyerhaeuser said it expects fewer earnings from wood products in the current quarter than in the previous quarter.

The company on Thursday said its wood products earnings are expected to be around $20 million lower in the second quarter than the first, citing lower sales volumes and higher unit manufacturing costs stemming from transportation constraints on production.

That revised outlook excludes the effect of changes in average sales realizations for lumber. Including those changes, the company said it expects a $70 million increase in lumber adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization in the second quarter compared to the first. That increase is driven by price changes, the company said.
