Consumer stocks were higher pre-bell Monday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) up 0.1% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) 0.6% higher.

British American Tobacco's (BTI) Fit2Win transformation program is on track to deliver 600 million British pounds ($792.5 million) in annual cost savings by 2028, impacting about 9,000 roles globally, the company said. Shares of British American Tobacco were down 0.7% premarket.
