The US Federal Communications Commission is drafting a rule that would ban imports of foreign inverters, which connect solar projects and batteries to the grid, due to concerns China could disrupt power supplies with them, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing five people with knowledge of the matter.
Under the rule, which could be published as early as this year, the ban would apply to new foreign models of inverters, the report said, citing the sources.
The FCC didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
