VEON (VEON) said Thursday it has partnered with Mastercard (MA) to accelerate the development of accessible digital financial services across Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan.

The companies plan to combine VEON's digital platforms with Mastercard's payments network to develop AI-powered financial services, including digital wallets, embedded finance, and remittance solutions, subject to regulatory approvals.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The collaboration is expected to begin with pilot programs in Ukraine and Kazakhstan before potentially expanding to VEON's other markets, the company said.
