Helen of Troy swung to a profit in its first quarter as strong performance at its two segments drove revenue growth.

For the three months ended March 31, the consumer products company posted on Wednesday net income of $35.8 million, or $1.51 a share, compared with a loss of $450.7 million, or $19.65 a share, in the same quarter a year ago.

The quarter's profit includes an after-tax gain on the sale of a distribution facility of $1.74 a share.

Adjusted earnings, which excludes one-off costs and exceptional items, came to 17 cents a share. According to FactSet, analysts were expecting 2 cents a share.

Consolidated revenue rose to $402.1 million from $371.7 million, topping projections of only a slight increase to $374.6 million. The rise in revenue was driven by growth in both of its segments, Home and Outdoor, and Beauty and Wellness.

Helen said that international demand for packs and a slate of new products gave its Home and Outdoor segment a boost. The division also benefited from an improved comparison from a year earlier, when tariff anxieties led to retailers pulling orders out of the first quarter of fiscal 2026 and into the previous one.

Beauty and Wellness growth was driven by sales of nail care, fans and thermometers.

Looking to the full year, Helen expects revenue to grow to between $1.76 billion to $1.83 billion, up from $1.79 billion previously.
