HSBC (HKG:0005) is in early discussions with investors on a significant risk transfer transaction linked to a portfolio of Asia-Pacific loans, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The proposed deal could include loans from Hong Kong, Singapore, India, and Australia and may be completed later this year, the report said.

Separately, Bloomberg reported that Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) is considering a transaction tied to about $2 billion of global corporate loans under its Chakra significant risk transfer program.

The terms of the deal remain under discussion with investors and could change, the report said.

Standard Chartered declined to comment on the matter in response to a query from MT Newswires.

Meanwhile, HSBC has yet to reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
