Accent Group (ASX:AX1) confirmed a Takeovers Panel application by Frasers Group, saying that the Panel has not decided whether to conduct proceedings and has made no comment on the merits of the application, according to an Australian bourse filing on Tuesday after market hours.

The independent board committee reaffirmed its recommendation that shareholders reject Frasers' takeover offer by taking no action and refraining from selling their shares into the bid, the company said.

The company said it will respond to the application in accordance with the Takeovers Panel's procedures.
