Amazon's (AMZN) Amazon Web Services discussed plans to invest up to $5 billion in the Philippines over the next 15 years during a meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Philippine News Agency reported Wednesday.
The proposed investment includes establishing an AWS Region, a cluster of data centers that would provide cloud computing services from the Philippines, the news agency said.
The project is expected to strengthen the country's digital infrastructure, support high-value job creation and expand access to cloud services, the report said.
