Shares of Aehr Test Systems, the designer, manufacturer, and seller of equipment used in the semiconductor industry, were rising late Tuesday after the company reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue.
Aehr said bookings were a record $60.7 million for the quarter.
Shares were up more than 26% in late trading, above $91 a share, after closing up 5.9% in regular trading, at $72.01.
For the fiscal fourth quarter ended in May, Aehr reported net revenue of $18.8 million, compared with $14.1 million in the previous fourth quarter.
Adjusted net income of 11 cents a share was up from a loss of one penny a share in the year-ago fourth quarter.
Wall Street had expected the company to report another loss of one cent a share on revenue of $18.7 million.
Aehr said its backlog as of May 29 was $80.6 million, and its effective backlog, including bookings since May 29, is $100.6 million. It said it received $8 million in new orders in the past month for silicon carbide WLBI WaferPaks.
Gayn Erickson, President and CEO of Aehr Test Systems, said fourth-quarter performance "exceeded expectations and capped a year of significant bookings and revenue diversification for Aehr. Record quarterly bookings, a very strong backlog, and growing demand across AI processors, silicon photonics, and power semiconductors for our wafer-level and package-level burn-in solutions position us well for significant growth moving forward."
For the fiscal year ending June 25, 2027, Aehr expects total company revenue of $130 million to $150 million, representing approximately 160% to 200% growth over a year. Aehr also expects adjusted net income to be 18% to 22% of total revenue.
"This outlook is based on the information available to us today, including our current backlog and anticipated customer demand," Erickson said. "We continue to pursue additional orders from existing and prospective customers.
Aehr's stock is up 257% through Tuesday's close and up 387% over the past 12 months.
