Air New Zealand (NZE:AIR, ASX:AIZ) lost the top company spot on the Sharesies bundle for the first time since the index launched in 2023, according to a report from the Sharesies investment platform.

Rocket Lab moved up two spots from third place, overtaking Air New Zealand to become the most widely held stock on Sharesies, with Air New Zealand and Nvidia falling by one spot each to company rankings of two and three, respectively.

SpaceX is a new entrant on the list at 11th position. Together, interest in SpaceX and Rocket Lab "may point to investors increasingly seeing the commercial space sector as a long-term growth opportunity," Sharesies said.

Air New Zealand's Australian shares gained over 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
