Takeda Pharmaceutical (TAK) has teamed up with the Indonesian government to build the country's plasma ecosystem and expand access to plasma-derived therapies, the company said over the weekend.

Under the deal, the company secured a plasma fractionation license from the country's Ministry of Health and will invest up to $30 million in a two-year pilot program to open plasma donation centers as part of a multi-year plan to develop large-scale plasma collection and manufacturing capabilities.

The first donation center is expected to open in 2027.
