Karyopharm Therapeutics Slides on Disclosure of Cash-retention Program for Executives

Shares of Karyopharm Therapeutics fell after the company launched a cash-retention program for executives.

The stock slipped 21%, to $7.50, in after-hours trading Friday, after closing up 1.4%, at $9.51. At close, the stock had risen 29% year-to-date.

Under the program, Chief Executive Officer Richard Paulson will receive a cash retention award of more than $1.7 million, the company disclosed in a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research Reshma Rangwala will receive $725,000, Chief Development Officer Stuart Poulton will get $640,000, and Chief Financial Officer Lori Macomber will get $625,000.

"The purpose of the 2026 Leadership Cash Retention Program is to incentivize retention of key employees during a period in which the Company is expecting several meaningful catalysts requiring the continued experience and expertise of the designated employees," the company said in its filing.
