0016 GMT - With the global economy engulfed in a fuel price shock amid tensions in the Middle East, New Zealanders are now clamouring for electric vehicles. Imports of reduced-emission vehicles increased 33% in the year to June 30, more than twice the pace of growth in imports of internal combustion vehicles, according to data from StatsNZ. Hybrid vehicles now account for almost one-third of all passenger vehicle imports, with China the main exporter of fully electric vehicles, the data shows. (james.glynn@wsj.com; X @JamesGlynnWSJ)
