ICICI Bank's (BOM:532174, NSE: ICICIBANK) profit after tax rose 16% to 148.1 billion Indian rupees for the fiscal first quarter, from 127.7 billion rupees a year earlier.

The bank's net interest income increased by 13% to 243.8 billion rupees in the quarter ended June 30 from 216.4 billion rupees the year-ago period, according to a stock exchange filing on Monday.

Non-interest income, excluding treasury, increased by 16% year-on-year to 84.3 billion rupees from 72.6 billion rupees a year earlier.
