Marsh posted higher revenue in the second quarter, as risk and insurance and consulting revenue again contributed to growth.
The professional-services firm on Tuesday posted a quarterly profit of $1.27 billion, or $2.63 a share, compared with $1.23 billion, or $2.45 a share, a year earlier.
Stripping out one-time items, earnings were $2.96 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected adjusted earnings of $2.90 a share.
Revenue climbed 6% to $7.4 billion, ahead of Wall Street models for $7.28 billion.
The company's risk and insurance-services unit logged revenue of $4.82 billion, up 4% from last year, while Consulting revenue increased 6% to $7.40 billion.
