Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (HKG:2252) expects to post a net profit of about 28 million yuan to 40 million yuan for the first half, compared with a net loss of 115 million yuan a year earlier, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

The company expects first-half revenue to increase about 200% to 230% year over year, driven by strong sales growth of its Toumai laparoscopic surgical robot in domestic and overseas markets.

MicroPort MedBot said the turnaround to profit was also supported by an improvement of more than 15 percentage points in gross profit margin.
