Johnson & Johnson's (JNJ) phase 3 study evaluating Tecvayli in combination with Talvey and Talvey with pomalidomide in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma showed improvements in progression-free survival and overall survival for both investigational groups, the drugmaker said Thursday.

Specifically, Tecvayli in combination with Talvey demonstrated a reduction in risk of disease progression or death by 89% and the risk of death by 62%, Johnson & Johnson said.

Based on the data, the independent data monitoring committee has recommended unblinding the study at the first interim analysis, Johnson & Johnson said, adding that it will release full results from the trial at a future major medical meeting.
