0852 GMT - Airbus's new buyback program sends a positive signal about shareholder returns, J.P. Morgan analysts write in a research note. The European plane maker's board of directors approved a share buyback program of 5 billion euros to be executed over three years. Analysts say the program might be smaller than many investors had hoped for, but it is still a positive statement of intent and further shareholder returns at a future date shouldn't be ruled out. They say the group should be able to return about 60% of free cash flow to shareholders over the next three to four years by combining dividends and the buyback. Airbus shares trade 6.8% higher at 207.85 euros. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
