Shares of RPM International were higher after the company logged higher sales in its fiscal fourth quarter and issued an upbeat outlook for the coming year.

The stock rose 8.3%, to $110.00, in premarket trading Wednesday. Through Tuesday's close, shares are down about 2% year to date.

The building-materials company before the bell posted a profit of $221.2 million, or $1.73 a share, for its three months ended May 31, compared with a $225.8 million, or $1.76 a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out one-time items, earnings were $1.89 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected adjusted earnings of $1.90 a share.

Net sales rose 7.2% to $2.23 billion, roughly in line with Wall Street estimates.

Chief Executive Frank Sullivan said RPM International generated strong sales and grew volumes during a volatile economic period by focusing on its restoration and maintenance solutions, targeting growing end markets, and winning a higher share of construction project spending through system sales and increased collaboration.

"We expect the positive momentum generated in the second half of fiscal 2026 to continue in fiscal 2027, even as we face higher inflationary pressure resulting from events in the Middle East," he added.

Looking ahead, RPM International guided for first-quarter sales to increase in the mid-single-digit range, compared with a year ago. For the year, the company expects sales to grow 3% to 7% from last year.
