RingCentral said Thursday it completed more than 2,500 artificial-intelligence software projects in less than 30 days through a companywide initiative using OpenAI's ChatGPT Work and Codex tools.
The cloud communications company said employees across the organization, including non-engineers, participated in the AI-Native Challenge, building software projects from planning and coding through testing, documentation and deployment with OpenAI's AI tools.
RingCentral said the initiative is part of its broader strategy to use AI internally to accelerate development of customer-facing products, including its AI Receptionist, AI Virtual Assistant and AI Conversation Expert offerings.
Separately, RingCentral said it expanded its strategic partnership with NiCE under a new multiyear agreement.
Under the deal, NiCE will resell RingCentral's RingEX unified communications platform, while the companies extended by one year their agreement to market and sell RingCentral Contact Center, powered by NiCE CXone.
RingCentral said the expanded partnership creates a two-way relationship in which both companies will offer each other's communications and customer-experience products to enterprise customers. Financial terms of either announcement weren't disclosed.
