NanoViricides (NNVC) said Tuesday it has raised the financing to support a phase 2 clinical trial of NV-387 oral gummies and is awaiting approval from regulatory agency ACOREP for the drug to treat the current Bundibugyo Ebolavirus in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
NV-387 is the only oral medication under consideration for clinical trial as a treatment of Ebola, NanoViricides said. The drug has excellent stability at room temperature, enabling ease of transport, distribution, and delivery to patient, the company added.
