Philips' Different Segments Had Diverging Results

0510 GMT - Philips had a significant divergence in performance across different segments when reporting second-quarter results, Natalia Webster at RBC writes in a note. The Dutch health-technology company materially outperformed consensus on sales growth and underlying margin, the analyst writes. However, in the connected care segment, sales growth missed and its diagnosis and treatment unit margin underperformed---on exclusion of the tariff refund benefit, says Webster. The one-off tariff refund also added around 1 percentage point to adjusted earnings before interest, taxes and amortization margin guidance, she adds. (aimee.look@wsj.com)
