Steris is boosting its quarterly dividend by 9.5% to 69 cents a share, up from 63 cents.

The new payout, equal to $2.76 a share annually, represents a 1.2% annual yield based on the company's Thursday closing price of $231.21 a share.

The dividend is payable on Sept. 25 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 4.

Steris said it has increased its dividends for 21 consecutive years.
