UMB Financial raised its quarterly dividend by 16%, to 50 cents a share, from 43 cents a share.

The new payout, equal to $2 a year, represents an annual yield of about 1.4% based on Tuesday's closing price of $143.98.

The dividend is payable on Oct. 1 to stockholders of record on Sept. 10, the financial services company said.
