Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) latest earnings call revealed a wave of K-12 districts abandoning Chromebooks and Windows machines in favor of the company’s new MacBook Neo, with Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh naming specific schools driving the shift.

Districts Go All-In on MacBook Neo

Parekh told analysts on Thursday that in Florida, Pinellas County Schools — one of the state’s largest districts — is moving 25,000 students from Windows devices to MacBook Neo across its 18 high schools.

In Washington state, Peninsula School District 401 has shifted more than 8,000 students off Chromebooks and onto the new MacBooks. In Oklahoma, Midwest City-Del City School District purchased over 6,000 MacBook Neos, becoming what Parekh called an “all-Apple district for students.”

And, the pattern isn’t isolated to a handful of districts. Parekh said that last quarter, roughly half of all MacBook Neo large-volume purchases by U.S. education institutions displaced Windows and Chromebook devices, causing a notable dent in a market Chromebooks have long dominated on price.

He added that many districts are leaning on Apple Financial Services to fund the rollouts at scale.

Mac Just Had Its Best June Quarter Ever

The education push is part of a broader Mac breakout. Apple reported Mac revenue of $10.4 billion, up 29% year-over-year, a new June quarter record, crediting strength in both MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro. Parekh said Mac posted its “best quarter ever for customers new to the Mac and for upgraders worldwide,” including in the U.S., China Mainland, and India, with U.S. customer satisfaction at 95%.

MacBook Neo is also gaining ground with enterprise buyers, reaching users Parekh described as spanning “from bank branches to retail storefronts.”

The entry-level 13-inch laptop starts at $699 ($599 for students) and runs on the A18 Pro chip — the same processor that debuted in the iPhone 16 Pro back in 2024.

Price Action: Apple’s shares fell sharply on Thursday as the company’s sales forecast for the current quarter ending in September came in below Wall Street’s expectations, due to supply chain constraints. The stock fell 6.33% to $312.33 in extended trading, after having gained about 23% year-to-date. Investors are also keeping a close watch on the stock, with Apple having recently reclaimed its title as the world’s most valuable company, overtaking Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA).

According to Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings, Apple has a strong Momentum score of 92.23 and a Quality score of 98.39, though its Value ranking sits lower at 4.43.
