Entergy reported a slightly higher second-quarter net profit on the back of strength at its utility business.
The energy and electric utility company on Wednesday posted a net income of $483 million, compared with $468 million in the same quarter a year ago. On a per-share basis, net income was $1.03 a share, compared with $1.05 a share.
Adjusted earnings were $1.03 a share. According to FactSet, analysts were expecting $1.01 a share.
The company's utility business saw a rise in earnings, which were offset by a loss in its Parent & Other segment.
Entergy reaffirmed its guidance for the year of an adjusted earnings per share range of $4.25 to $4.45.
