Dexcom Reports Higher Profit, Raises FY Sales Outlook

Dexcom reported higher profit and revenue in the second quarter as demand for its continuous glucose monitors grew in the U.S. and internationally.

The diabetes-device maker reported a profit of $249.1 million, or 64 cents a share, compared with a profit of $179.8 million, or 45 cents a share, a year earlier.

Adjusted earnings were 70 cents a share, compared with analysts' expectations of 61 cents a share, according to FactSet.

Revenue rose 13% to $1.31 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.29 billion.

Dexcom said U.S. revenue rose 11% and international revenue rose 19% year over year.

For the full year, the company expects revenue of $5.18 billion to $5.25 billion, up from $5.16 billion to $5.25 billion previously.
