Illumina raised its full-year guidance after reporting higher second-quarter revenue, driven by continued demand for its gene-sequencing platforms and clinical applications.

Illumina on Thursday raised its fiscal 2026 outlook. The company now expects revenue of $4.60 billion to $4.64 billion, up from its prior forecast of $4.52 billion to $4.62 billion. It also increased its adjusted earnings guidance to $5.30 to $5.40 a share from $5.15 to $5.30 a share.

Analysts polled by FactSet forecast revenue between $4.52 billion and $4.62 billion and adjusted earnings of $5.23 a share.

Chief Executive Jacob Thaysen said momentum continued to build through the first half of the year as customers expanded their use of Illumina's sequencing technology. He said demand for the NovaSeq X platform remained strong as the company broadened its workflow and multiomics capabilities.

The genomics company reported second-quarter net income of $207 million, or $1.35 a share, compared with $235 million, or $1.49 a share, in the same quarter a year earlier.

Adjusted earnings came in at $1.31 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.23 a share.

Revenue rose 9.5% to $1.16 billion from $1.06 billion a year earlier, topping analysts' expectations of about $1.13 billion. The company said demand for its NovaSeq X sequencing platform and broader adoption of sequencing-intensive clinical applications helped drive growth.

Shares were trading 6.7% after market, at $219. Overall, the stock is up 62% in the past three months.
