1859 ET [Dow Jones]--Visa's U.S. payment volume grew 10% year over year in the latest quarter, marking a growth rate not seen since fiscal 2019 excluding a post-Covid recovery, Chief Financial Officer Chris Suh says during a call with analysts. Suh cites a number of factors behind the growth, including higher tax refunds, the cost of fuel, and retail, including the timing of promotional shopping events. World Cup-related spend also contributed, he says. Both discretionary and non-discretionary spend remains strong, he says, with no signs of weakening from lower-spending consumers.
