Peninsula Energy (ASX:PEN) appointed Gary Birch as chief technical officer, effective Sept. 28, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Birch has served as chief operations officer at Heathgate Resources since November 2019, per the filing.

Peninsula Energy also established a technical committee to strengthen oversight and drive continuous improvement at the Lance uranium project in Wyoming, US. The committee will be chaired by non-executive director Keith Bowes.

Additionally, the company engaged specialist uranium in-situ recovery consulting group Rendement to provide technical assistance and recommendations focused mainly on wellfield performance, it said.

The company's shares were down 1% in recent Monday trade.
