Archer Aviation completed a piloted round-trip journey with its all-electric Midnight aircraft.

The flight happened on July 30 from Salinas Municipal Airport to Monterey Regional Airport before making the return flight.

Archer's Midnight air taxi is designed to allow passengers to replace 60- to 90-minute trips on the ground with all-electric flights.

Each leg of the trip took about nine minutes. It takes more than half an hour to drive, Archer said.
