Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) said assays from diamond core and reverse circulation drilling at the Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit, part of the Sandstone gold project in Western Australia, intersected a wide zone of mineralization, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

Extensional drilling intersected tonalite, the width of which exceeded previous interpretations, with the unit now interpreted to be over 180 meters thick horizontally, the company said. Visible gold was observed throughout the mineralized tonalite in a drill hole, producing a broad, unconstrained intercept of 305.4 meters at 1.82 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold from 351.9 meters.

Infill drilling from shallower areas of the deposit produced a broad, unconstrained intercept of 205 meters at 2.67 g/t grade of gold from 293 meters.

The company's shares jumped 10% in recent trading on Monday.
