HSBC's Attributable Profit Jumps in Q2, Raises 2026 Banking NII Outlook

HSBC (HKG:0005) posted second-quarter profit attributable to ordinary shareholders of $7.69 billion, up from $4.58 billion a year earlier.

Earnings per share came in at $0.45 from $0.26 a year earlier, according to a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Revenue increased to $19.1 billion from $16.5 billion in the prior year.

The board approved a second interim dividend of $0.10 per share, unchanged from a year earlier.

HSBC raised its 2026 banking net interest income (NII) guidance to at least $46 billion, citing a continued favorable interest rate outlook despite persistent market uncertainty.
