Market Chatter: Formosa Tokuyama Advanced Starts Work on NT$1 Billion Capacity Expansion Project

Formosa Tokuyama Advanced Chemicals Co, a joint venture company of Formosa Plastics Corp (TPE:1301) and Tokuyama Corporation (TYO:4043), has begun work to expand the capacity of its semiconductor materials facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, according to a Commercial Times report on Friday, citing company statements at a press conference.

Formosa Plastics' shares were down 2% in Monday's trade.

The company plans to invest NT$1 billion to start operations of the project in 2028, which will add 30 million kilograms of annual production capacity.

Formosa Tokuyama Advanced Chemicals was established in collaboration with Formosa Plastics in 2020 to manufacture high-purity isopropyl alcohol for the electronics industry.
