Chorus (NZE:CNU, ASX:CNU) partnered with Nokia to launch TimeSync, a national network-based precision timing service in New Zealand to support critical infrastructure, the telecommunications infrastructure company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company also collaborated with the Measurement Standards Laboratory, which is responsible for maintaining New Zealand's official time standard, to help support the distribution of the precise time signal.

TimeSync is expected to be introduced from 2027, starting with Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch, Chorus said.

Chorus shares fell nearly 1% in afternoon New Zealand trade.
