Rockefeller Capital Management's wealth management division recruited a top financial advisor and his team from Merrill Lynch, adding to its string of big hires.

Jones Wealth Partners joined Rockefeller in Columbus, Ohio, where Rockefeller is opening a new office. The team is led by advisor and managing director Sidney Jones, who has spent nearly all of his four-decade-plus career at Merrill Lynch, according to BrokerCheck, a public database maintained by industry self-regulatory organization Finra.

Jones has been on Barron's Top 1,500 Financial Advisors list for multiple years. In 2026, he ranked No. 21 in Ohio and was listed as having $2.1 billion in client assets.

Jones Wealth Partners includes advisors Natalie Lariccia, Quinn Jones, Liam Jones, Dominic Corso and Stefanos Newman, according to Rockefeller.

The group's other team members include chief operating officer John Christman, senior wealth strategist Sherri Clay, senior client relationship manager Lisa D'Amico, client relationship associate Tracey Johnson, investment strategist Kevin Meek, operations manager Ryan McKay, and client experience associates Jennifer Zetts and Kari DeLucia.

Jones Wealth Partners will report to Brett Thelander, northern regional president of Rockefeller Global Family Office. Thelander is a former Merrill executive.

Michael Outlaw, president of Rockefeller Global Family Office, said Jones' lengthy experience is the right fit for helping Rockefeller expand into new markets in Ohio.

The wealth management company was launched in 2018 and is a spinoff of the family office of tycoon John D. Rockefeller, who founded the Standard Oil Company. It has been expanding steadily through recruiting, picking up advisor teams with large assets and lengthy resumes from national brokerage firms, also known as wirehouses.

Rockefeller focuses on serving ultrahigh- and high-net-worth clients. It has offices in 32 markets in the U.S. and an additional office in London. As of June 30, it had $224 billion in client assets across its three businesses: Rockefeller Global Family Office, Rockefeller Global Investment Management, and Rockefeller Global Investment Banking.

Several of Rockefeller's leaders are former wirehouse executives. CEO Greg Fleming was previously president of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
