Capri Turns to Air Freight Amid Port Congestion

Dow Jones
08/05

The owner of Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo said port congestion in Asia is slowing the delivery of inventory to stores. Capri Holdings said it is turning to air freight to speed up inventory deliveries, but executives told analysts Wednesday that the delays will nevertheless affect sales this quarter.

The company lowered its full-year revenue outlook due to the delays and the impact of the war in the Middle East.

Total revenue for the quarter ended June 27 fell 3.5% to $769 million, driven by declines at Michael Kors. The company has been scaling back distribution and reducing discounts at Michael Kors in an effort to turn the brand around.
