The company will announce its 1HFY2026 results on Aug 13.Singapore's Energy Market Authority has granted conditional approval to Sembcorp Utilities, a subsidiary of Mainboard-listed Sembcorp Industries, for a 300MW renewable power import project to Singapore from Malaysia.\nThe initiative is supported by a 2.2GWp floating solar farm and up to 4.3GWh of battery storage located at the Linggiu reservoir in the neighbouring Malaysian state of Johor. Sembcorp will partner state-owned KPRJ Environment and Qua Energy to develop these energy infrastructure, with operations expected to commence in 2029.\nThe new energy infrastructure aims to meet energy demand in both Singapore and Malaysia while the import project will leverage the existing and future subsea interconnection infrastructure between both countries to facilitate cross-border power flows and strengthen regional energy connectivity.\nKoh Chiap Khiong, CEO of Singapore and gas and related services at Sembcorp, says: \"This project strengthens Sembcorp's diversified energy portfolio, reinforcing our ability to provide reliable and low-carbon energy solutions to support growing demand from data centres, AI-related industries and other energy-intensive sectors.
