Kontoor Brands promoted its chief financial officer to president and raised its full-year outlook.

The apparel company, which owns Wrangler jeans and Helly Hansen activewear, said Wednesday that Joseph Alkire will serve as both president and finance chief after three years of serving as chief financial officer and executive vice president.

In his new role, Alkire will continue managing the Helly Hansen brand and expand his oversight to include Wrangler.

The change comes as Kontoor is on track to close its divestiture from Lee jeans in the fourth quarter, it said. Once that deal closes, the company plans to use the proceeds for a $400 million accelerated share buyback program, with the remaining funds allocated to debt payments.

Separately, Kontoor raised its outlook for full-year adjusted earnings per share to a range of $5.25 to $5.35, up from previous guidance of $5.15 to $5.25. It maintained its sales guidance.

Revenue in the second quarter rose 19% to $584 million, including the acquisition of Helly Hansen, which closed last year.

Profit was $64.8 million, or $1.03 a share, compared with $73.9 million, or $1.05 a share, the year before.
