Apple (AAPL) has developed a large language artificial intelligence model for the Chinese market in collaboration with Alibaba (BABA), Reuters reported Friday, citing three people familiar with the matter.

The iPhone maker previously used third-party models to bring generative AI to its devices and products in China, according to the report.

Apple's suite of Apple Intelligence offerings are expected to launch in China in the coming months after an update to its iOS operating system, one source said.

Apple and Alibaba didn't immediately respond to requests for comments by MT Newswires.
