European Equities Traded in the US Rise in Thursday Trading

European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher late Thursday morning, rising 0.45% to 1,969.72 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS) and biotech firm Evaxion (EVAX), which rose 4.9% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Nokia (NOK) and healthcare tech company Royal Philips (PHG), which increased 2.8% and 1.9% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by Ascendis Pharma (ASND) and petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR), which fell 3.8% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Eni (E) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk (NVO), which were down 1.8% and 0.7% respectively.

The gainers from the UK were led by Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and Silence Therapeutics (SLN), which rose 4.7% and 3.6% respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava (DAVA) and British American Tobacco (BTI), which were up 3.3% and 2.9% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO), which lost 3% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by mining firm BHP (BHP) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which fell 1.8% and 1.5% respectively.
