U.S. Futures, European Stocks Mixed

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 climbed 0.2% in morning trading. Accelleron Industries rose 8.5% and argenx rose 8.4%. On the other hand, SIG Group slipped 22.1%, and Johnson Matthey dropped 4.7%. The FTSE 100 added 0.3%. Other stocks in Europe were mixed as France's CAC 40 decreased 0.1% and Germany's DAX was flat.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.3% to 95.78.

In commodities, Brent crude dropped 0.3% to $88.27 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 0.8% to $81.74 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 1.3% to 62.2 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 1 basis point to 3.216% from 3.225%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 2 basis points to 4.677% from 4.697%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were up as Japan's Nikkei 225 index gained 0.7%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 1.6%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 1.4%.
