China's Xiaomi is scheduled to report its second-quarter results on Tuesday. Here's what you need to know:

NET PROFIT: Xiaomi's second-quarter net profit is likely to come in at 6.01 billion yuan, equivalent to $891.3 million, according to a poll of analysts by Visible Alpha. That compares with net profit of 11.90 billion yuan in the same period a year earlier.

REVENUE: The company's revenue is likely to fall 5.3% from a year earlier to 109.82 billion yuan, according to Visible Alpha.

Xiaomi's Hong Kong-listed shares fell 32% in the second quarter, weighed by pressure from higher memory prices and subdued auto demand in the Chinese market.

WHAT TO WATCH:

-- MARGIN: Overall, the second quarter will likely be another soft one for Xiaomi given soft smartphone, IoT, internet and EV sales as well as unfavorable margins due to higher memory prices and competition, Citi analysts wrote in a recent note. Citi estimates the overall gross margin for the second quarter could narrow to 19.7%.

-- SMARTPHONES: Xiaomi's smartphone sales will likely drop 9% to 41.6 billion yuan on lower shipments and rising average selling prices as the company strategically cut low-margin smartphone sales and increased average selling prices, they say.

-- IOT: Xiaomi's Internet-of-Things revenue could be flat at 9.1 billion yuan compared with a year earlier, Citi says. The gross margin for the segment likely come in at 20.0% on memory price increases and competition, they add.
