President Donald Trump said on Saturday that India's Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, earlier this month asked the U.S. Administration how it can conduct elections without a valid photo ID. Trump made the remarks in a post on X, citing India's recent election as a model.

According to Trump, India's last election had 646 million voters, with less than 1% voting by mail, and every single voter was required to have a valid photo identity document. The President contrasted this with the U.S. system, which he said lacks such requirements.

Trump called for the passage of the SAVE AMERICA Act, stating, "We need to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, now!" The act would require voters to provide proof of citizenship and photo identification to vote in federal elections.
